I am an interior architect making ceramics. When I started exploring ceramics I soon realized that it is the surface which makes it special, form can be made with anything these days. Ceramic glazes can have an amazing depth and livelines. I started specializing in glazing and now I experiment endlessly with developing, testing and combining different glazes.
Meanwhile I was always very into furniture design, and soon I had the idea of making tile tables. A bit of a forgotten genre, but big in the fifties and sixties. I knew immediately that the frames for this tables should be very slim to compensate for the heaviness of the tiles and to give them a more modern appeal.
A love of pattern and colour runs through all my designs. My inspiration comes from the urban environment, but also from art, textiles and nature.
